Hull Truck Theatre invites you to an immersive experience exploring bullying at work…

All of us who have experienced bullying or harassment at work will welcome this innovative event by Hull Truck.

Wilkin Chapman Rollits and Hull Truck are coming together to deliver an insightful workshop entitled “Recognising Harassment.” Part of Humber Business Week 2026,

Tom Saunders, Associate Director from Hull Truck Theatre, is running a session using professional actors. They will act out real workplace situations to show how unwelcome behavior can be harassment.

“This interactive session will be a chance to dive into key issues by analysing the actions once more of highly skilled actors. We hope to give this important topic a fresh perspective!” said Tom.

Wilkin Chapman Rollits’ employment law experts will share key legal info to help understand things better, like spotting psychological abuse, cyberbullying, and microaggressions at work.

Ed Heppel, an employment law specialist, said, “Harassment is not always obvious, and organisations don’t always recognise it until problems have already developed.   This event will provide a space for employers to see real-world situations brought to life, understand the law, and leave more confident about how to safeguard their people and avoid legal risk.”

With the Employment Rights Act 2025 bringing in new harassment protections, this event is happening at a perfect moment. Starting April 2026, reporting sexual harassment is protected by whistleblowing rules. More changes are coming in October 2026.

A recent survey of UK employees found that 28% had experienced bullying or harassment at work in the past year, while nearly 60% of those affected chose not to report it.

This workshop follows the successful “Unconscious Bias” training event that was delivered as part of last year’s Humber Business Week line-up and uses the same techniques and principles as the theatre’s award-winning GP Training programme.

This event is an expression of Hull Truck's fundamental values. Hull Truck Theatre is an innovative theater with a distinct Northern voice. It’s rooted locally but thinks globally, helping everyone reach their potential.

Inspiring theater that showcases modern Britain’s diversity and gives folks the tools and space they need to develop.
